Speaker Says Assembly Will Take Up Ridesharing Soon

Speaker Carl Heastie said on Friday that the State Assembly is close to releasing a bill to bring ridesharing to ALL of New York.

“There’s a lot of different ideas, a lot of different things to cover, but I don’t think it would be too long before we come out with a bill on ridesharing,” he said.

The State Senate has already passed a similar bill. Governor Cuomo also included legislation in his budget to authorize ridesharing services to operate throughout New York.

We thank Speaker Heastie and his colleagues in the Assembly for their attention to this issue and look forward to seeing what the Assembly produces in the coming weeks.
